United Patriot Missions
Mission 1: #IsaacStrongWisconsin
Interview with Jonathan Barthel and Justin Stubbendick
Janesville, Wisconsin
September 30, 2018
United Patriot Missions pairs veterans and noble civilians together to do good works in honor of fallen service members. Our first mission has been to help serve and support the Johnson family who are facing the challenges associated with pediatric cancer. Patrick and Debbie Johnson have 3 children named Tyler, Aiden, and Isaac. Isaac is battling neuroblastoma.
In this interview with Jonathan Barthel and Justin Stubbendick, they share how their friendship formed and what led them to serve the Johnson family. Their friendship began the night Justin helped save Jonathan’s life after a vicious attack and was forged through a brotherhood that values the miracle of life and the resilience to overcome adversity with positivity. When these warriors witnessed the warrior within 4 year old Isaac Johnson–Isaac and his family had their immediate, unwavering allegiance.
Just prior to this interview, Jonathan shared with Justin that after 5 years of rehabilitation, perseverance, and recovering from his injuries, he’d just officially received his pilot license. The night Justin rendered aid to Jonathan and helped stop his bleeding, he didn’t know the full magnitude of what he held in his hands. In time it is being revealed.
It is my honor to share with you all the power of what selfless service can create. We take all of these actions in service and support of the Johnsons in honor of United States Army Sergeant Dan Thompson who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan in February 2009.
We are grateful that Dan’s mother Lisa has granted us permission to do this in her son’s name.Join us in helping to meet every possible need of the Johnson family. Learn more about our #yellowlaces campaign and other ways you can help at the link below.
